A blocking minority is a group of shareholders or members within an organization that holds enough voting power to prevent a certain decision from being approved. In corporate governance, a blocking minority is typically defined as a group that holds at least a certain percentage of voting rights, such as 10% or 25%. This threshold gives the minority group the ability to block certain decisions, such as changes to the company's bylaws or major strategic decisions, by voting against them. Blocking minorities are important in ensuring that decisions are made with the support of a significant portion of the organization's stakeholders. **
