The Old Testament is the first part of the Christian Bible and is based on the Hebrew Bible. It contains the sacred scriptures of the Jewish faith and focuses on the covenant between God and the Israelites. The New Testament, on the other hand, is the second part of the Christian Bible and focuses on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, as well as the early Christian Church. The New Testament is seen as fulfilling the prophecies and promises of the Old Testament, emphasizing love, forgiveness, and salvation through Jesus Christ. **

The Old Testament of the Bible was written by various authors over centuries, including Moses, David, Solomon, Isaiah, and others. The New Testament was written by various authors as well, including the apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as Paul and others. Both the Old and New Testaments are considered sacred texts by Christians and are believed to be inspired by God. **

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament contain instances of violence. In the Old Testament, there are accounts of wars, battles, and divine judgments that involve violence. In the New Testament, there are also references to violence, such as the crucifixion of Jesus. However, it is important to note that the overall message of both testaments emphasizes love, forgiveness, and peace, and not all passages condone or promote violence. **

Christians typically follow both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains the sacred scriptures of Judaism and is considered by Christians as part of their religious heritage. It provides important context and background for understanding the teachings and prophecies that are fulfilled in the New Testament. Christians believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament and established a new covenant with humanity, as described in the New Testament. **

Several books of the Old Testament are quoted in the New Testament, including Psalms, Isaiah, Genesis, Deuteronomy, and many others. The New Testament authors often quoted the Old Testament to show the fulfillment of prophecies, to provide moral and spiritual teachings, and to support their arguments. These quotes demonstrate the continuity and connection between the two parts of the Bible, highlighting the importance of the Old Testament in the Christian faith. **

In the Old Testament, God is often depicted as a powerful and sometimes wrathful figure, who demands obedience and punishes those who disobey. However, in the New Testament, God is portrayed as more loving, forgiving, and merciful, as demonstrated through the teachings and actions of Jesus Christ. The New Testament emphasizes the concept of God's grace and the offer of salvation through faith in Jesus, which represents a shift in the understanding of God's relationship with humanity. Overall, the evolution of God from the Old Testament to the New Testament reflects a progression towards a more compassionate and loving portrayal of the divine. **
